Words fail to describe the feelings of hopelessness one feels when your protectors turn predators, pluck you from your surroundings, maim, torture and kill you or sell you to the highest bidder. All in the name of protecting freedom and liberty, without any due process of law. More...

Galloway on Pakistan
It is seems bit surreal to hear a Scottish politician give a speech about Pakistan and do it better than any Pakistani politician, past or present. But then George Galloway is no ordinary politician. He has been an outstanding spokesman for the cause of Palestinians, and against the war on Iraq, and a fearless critic of Israeli oppression.
His logic is flawless, his force of argument overpowering, his cadence mesmerising, his passion is real, his ridicule merciless. He can enthral the audience and make the 'Stones of Rome rise and mutiny'.
This is an amazing video, Galloway, the Scotsman, with his great sense of timing and occasion cheered by a Pakistani audience in London; catchy slogans raised by the audience in Urdu, Punjabi and English; followed by an excellent spoof interview by a deadpan young man. It shows you how the world has changed.

Geo News has been taken off air, as the UAE Government has cut their satellite uplink facilities, reportedly under pressure from Musharraf regime. This happens when Mr. Negroponte is visiting Pakistan, to prevent the Empire from unravelling. So far the American efforts have been of damage control. They have given statements of mild rebuke to Musharraf, pussyfooting around the issue of restoration of judiciary, and only emphasizing the need to hold early elections. More...

UN Rapporteur Asma Jahangir has said that the amendments made under the Army Act violated human rights and the Constitution. She said granting military courts the authority to try offences from murder to libel reflected the government's lack of confidence in its selected Provisional Constitution Order (PCO) judges.
She said that in order to settle scores with lawyers, human rights activists and defiant journalists, the law was given effect from January 2003. "This also allows the government to legitimise its illegal acts of disappearances carried out by the intelligence agencies with impunity,"

Saud Memon owned the property where the remains of Daniel Pearl, the murdered Wall Street Journal correspondent were found in 2002. According to Memon's family, he left for South Africa after this discovery in Ahsanabad, Gadap Town. He was apprehensive of his likely arrest in this high-profile murder case. The FBI arrested him from South Africa on March 7, 2003, kept him at Guantanamo Bay for more than two years and then handed him over to the Pakistani authorities in 2006, according to the family. Memon returned home on April 28, 2007 in a state of extreme emaciation. He was presented to the Supreme Court Bench on May 14 in the forced disappearances case. He was unable to speak as a result of alleged torture and died of 'tuberculosis and meningitis' on May 18, 2007. More

Honourable Justice Khalil-ur-Rehman Ramday is a judge of the Supreme Court of Pakistan. One of the most independent minded judges Pakistan has ever produced. He was born in Lahore on the January 13, 1945 as the fifth child and the third son of (late) Justice Mr. Muhammad Siddique. He is currently under arrest along with many other judges of the Supreme and High Courts who refused to take oath with the PCO after a seven member bench of the Supreme Court declared it unconstitutional and illegal. Owing to his independant minded nature, he was not even invited by the ruling military junta to take oath after their coup against the judiciary and press, effectively leaving him without his job.
